Annual Procurement Plan

16/05/2016

Cabinet Secretary vide his D.O. letter no. 511/1/1/2016- Cab.III dated 29th March 2016 addressed to all Secretaries to the Government of India, has mentioned that Ministry of Commerce has proposed to transform DGS&D into a government e-market place (GeM) for procurement of goods and services by government and its agencies.

However, the most competitive rates for procurement on GeM would become possible only when GeM leverages government's buying power through an aggregation of demand.  It is therefore necessary that each Ministry draws up its Annual Procurement Plan for common user items and places it on GeM portal by 15th April 2016.  A provision has been made on revamped DGS&D portal wherein respective departments can upload this information.

Respective departments/Ministries are requested to designate a nodal officer in the Ministry who will be the contact person for liasion with DGS&D and his/her details should be furnished to DGS&D immediately
